Beyoncé Wins Fight Between Kanye and Taylor

For all the hype about big, mean bully Kanye West and his poor, innocent victim Taylor Swift, you’d think that somebody died at the VMA’s a few days ago. But, alas, it was just a bit of garden-variety entertainment drama. No real biggie. Even still, since everyone else in the Universe, including the President, feels the need to comment on it, I offer my $0.02 here:

First, Kanye was right. Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” blows that Taylor Swift song/video out of the water. Sure, he shouldn’t have “stormed the stage” to say so, but what he said was true. Everybody seems to want Kanye West to be a loose cannon when it comes to him saying things like “George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” but then get all bent out of shape when he suggests that the VMA’s might be a little rigged. Loose cannons say unexpected and unorthodox things. You don’t get to pick and choose. And, speaking of that, Taylor Swift should loosen up a bit. If you don’t expect outrageous things to happen on the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards, it may be time to take a break from La-La-Land. Finally, in addition to being talented, beautiful, and damn-near perfect, Beyoncé’s response proved that she is also one of the classiest chicks out there. Her yielding the stage to give Taylor Swift her “moment in the spotlight” was a Masterclass in Virtue.

Game, set, match: Beyoncé.

Beyonce DID win that one. Pure class. And that reminds me, I need to watch her video again. It's been almost an entire day since I've seen it. And don't you think she should be the new Wonder Woman instead of Megan Gale? (Though Gale is a good choice too, if only because of her height.)

"Garden variety entertainment drama indeed." After I read your blog, I was talking with Maya and we were speculating about whether the whole incident was pre-planned. Kanye has always been a part of Jay-Z's empire, so this move seems to work for everyone. Jay-Z's wife gets to look supper classy. The little white girl gets to look sympathetic. And Kanye gets to remind people that he's a bad boy so his albums might be still worth buying (since his last two were kind of boring and wimpy.) The awards program gets to have its cake and eat it too by officially giving the award to the white newcomer but unofficially recognizing the better video. Album sales go up. Everyone wins. So, why is everyone so upset? (Because we like to be upset.)

Yup, I and my friends thought the same thing, we figured it was all a set up by Kanye West in order to make someone’s career grow or prevent from going down…that’s Hollywood for you!!! Nothing is ever real expect maybe for some “real life” shows/reality shows, but even those, I’m sure, are edited to a certain extent.
